I've been spending some time getting the Phi's working in a cluster. If your interested, read my musings.
Some people come here for my Fortran page. Others want my PhD thesis titled Quantum Waveguide Theory (which is available from the UWA library) or my Honours thesis titled Quantum Chaos in Second Harmonic Generation - Stu. | ![]() |

HomeBrew Festival 2012
Back by popular demand... time to get the brew on.
Following on from the success of last year, we have YADFTS (yet
another design for the spit)... perhaps this year it'll work :)
Moar tents, Moar beer, Moar fun!
We couldn't work out who won last year, due to all the ramblings on
the scoring board... so the format will be changed! for the better!
Get on Facebook and start a discussion on what you should bring...

Retrieved paddle
I finally drove to Dwellingup to get my paddle. It was in good shape, considering that I had left it under a large rock in the middle of the Murray river for about 3 months.

2010 Murray White Water Festival
A great festival. The river was a little low, I lost my paddle (if anyone finds an AT paddle on the Lower Murray, please let me know) and I got stuck in Andies and had to be dragged out (thanks Mike)... but it was a fantastic event. Hanging out for next year.

Pedantic
so... the "Go for 2 and 5" logo says 2 fruit and 5 vegetables with appropriate pictures. But last time I looked, capsicum was a fruit. http://www.gofor2and5.com.au/

2010 Australian Canoe Polo Champs
April 3 to 5 saw the 2010 Australian Canoeing Canoe Polo Championships held at Champion Lakes, Armadale. The fantastic venue was witness to some fast and furious games, culminating in the Open Mens grand final which started with a large collision and jettisoned ball and ended with a magnificent power goal in extra time. South Australia continued its dominance of the sport at a national level, winning 4 of the 5 divisions contested. All competitors, officials and spectators hailed the event a success and were impressed with the venue.

Each canoe polo team consists of between 5-8 players with 5 on the water per team at any given time (upto 3 substitute players). Games are played in a 35m x 23m field and consist of two 10 minute halves. As the only full contact paddling sport, canoe polo is exciting team sport requiring great paddling, ball handling and tactical skills. Despite a game only lasting 20 minutes, competitors require great strength and endurance to see a game through.
Australia has a strong history in canoe polo, dominating the sport from the late 80's till the early naughties. The mens team won the World Championships in 1994, 1996 and 1998. While the womens team won the World Championships in 1994 and 1998, and claimed silver in 1996 and 2002. Recent success includes a strong showing at the World Games in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, where the mens team claimed bronze.

Sad, terribly sad.
My father and I were sitting in my brothers flat in Barcelona, a little bored. We turned on the teev and searched for English channels. Nothing. Finally we settled on this ripper. A lusty-busty-blonde standing on the screen encouraging people to ring in and guess the amount of euro on the screen (well, that's what we think she was saying) and win upto 50000 Euros.
When someone rang in, she would shout out "Hola solucion"... and wobble her ample chest. Gold.
The sad part... we watched this for 3hrs waiting for the final answer, only to be told that they will continue the next night... and that's where it gets terribly sad. We tuned in the next night and watched for another 2hrs only to have the competition close without an answer!

What to wear to work now?
I had a disaster today. I had a thong-blow-out. What will I wear to work now?
I've super-glued it up... lets see how long it lasts.

Drink up for Australia Day
So, am I the worst Australian? I get a mate to hang out in a cold machine room fixing a computer for me on Australia day. How wrong is that?
Luckily he was an American so probably didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
