Some people come here for my Fortran page. Others want my PhD thesis titled Quantum Waveguide Theory (which is available from the UWA library) or my Honours thesis titled Quantum Chaos in Second Harmonic Generation - Stu.

Move to a blog

After looking around the web for a while, I've decided to move my person web page to a Weblog in the hope that I will keep it more up-to-date.

PhD Awarded

On the 15th of December 2003 I was awarded my PhD with distinction. I passed without corrections which was a real bonus, I wasn't looking forward to having to rewrite any of it. Now that I have finished, my school/university days are over and I will continue as a working bum. Anyway, its time to go paddling...

PhD Finished

5 years in the making, 6 hours production, 20 minutes posting and my PhD thesis has now been submitted.

About 8-12 weeks from now, I will know whether it was all worth it... then, around May next year, you will all have to call me Doctor Midgley. Begging and scrapping will help win my affection - you will know when you have won my affection, I will inform you that you can call me Dr Stu ;)

Thanks for all the nagging, I can provide hats if you don't have one :)

CutBat

Is this possibly the most compact polo bat ever?

This revolutionary design is aimed at the "Canoepolo" traveller. Its convenient size allows it to be carried onto aircraft as hand luggage and placed in the over head locker. Its amazing design is based on the popular Vampire Bat with special enhancements making it conform to the "dense-pack" system.

No other polo bat allows such easy transport as the CUTBAT which will fit in any boot, backpack and most suit cases.

How can I get the CUTBAT?

Just send $100 and I will promptly send you detailed instructions, a stencil, permanent marker and a tungsten-carbide jigsaw blade. Then all you need is a standard Vampire Bat and a jigsaw. Within 20 minutes, you too will have a CUTBAT.

Don't hesitate, your CUTBAT is just $100 away.
